Death of an object

It breaks my heart every time I have to throw something away that has been of great use to me. We live in a culture where our aim is to reduce, reuse and recycle in order to slow down and stop global warming, while we do the opposite. How can a new ritual around saying goodbye to our objects inform us about how we have been throwing stuff away and what its consequences are.

This project explores what it would be like if we said goodbye to our waste as as we say goodbye to humans. Trying to understand the emotional, economical, ecological effects of our current way of discarding and reacting to it.

Our Laundry in limited space

Exploring how our ever shrinking living space could be used to take care of the garments that we wear every day. Looking for a simpler and shorter laundry cycle through the process of “hacking and adapting” basic furniture. How can we adapt our rooms so that they become a sustainable reflection of us?

Less stuff, more care.

Kiteraceptives

How can a kite building kit help parents and children of Ahmedabad communicate about contraceptives in a way that bypasses the disgrace attributed by society and changes that behaviour society has around displaying sexual interest or activities?

Super
Local
Radio

The Super Local Radio project is a set of public installations to be installed on your local sticker- and graffiti-infested lighting pole.

There is no room for self-expression in public space, rarely any activities without requiring monetary compensation, and no way you as an individual citizen of Eindhoven feel represented where you live. Who listens to your stories? Who collects the stories of others?
